Attitude is Altitude
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today，I would like to deliver a speech titled “Attitude is Altitude.” Now, imagine being born without arms. No arms to wrap around someone, no hands to experience touch, or to hold another hand with. Or what about being born without legs? Having no ability to dance, walk, run, or even stand on two feet. Now put both of those scenarios together: no arms and no legs. What would you do? How would that affect your everyday life? Look at this man. Nick Vujicic was born with no arms and no legs. To most, this would be a great detriment, but to Nick it was a challenge to triumph. As Nick grew up, he learned to deal with his disability and started to be able to do more and more things on his own. He adapted to his situation and found ways to accomplish tasks that most people could only do by using their limbs, such as cleaning teeth, brushing hair, typing on a computer, swimming, playing sports, and much more. You may doubt: ‘Hi, how could these happen? Look at this poor guy.’ just as part of us suspicious of the existence of Helen Keller. However, they do lead awkward, mysterious but successful lives among us. They are the ones who with only one “chicken drumstick” fulfilled various practices, the ones who with mere sense of smell and sense of touch successfully got a good knowledge of five languages; the ones who used two moving fingers explored the Big Bang of universe. How come? Because, as the time went by, they have learned to embrace their situations and tried to achieve greater things. Being brave enough to the challenges and adopting a positive attitude towards adversities are not hot buttons any more in recent days, yet they are still on rise and turn out to be increasingly cut-throat. Some of us may encounter such a situation that some bad person pointed at us nose and laughed at us a fat girl or fat boy. And then we rushed into bedroom examining ourselves seriously in the mirror. Well, the worst thing is, we did consider it’s the time for us to watch our weight and then turned to refuse eating anything. There are always some people used to complain everything with negative views like short height, poor life, or plaint appearance. But why? Why we always settle these obstacles in ourselves’ way. Why we can’t just receive the fact that: such is the world we live in with both encouragements and depression. Sometimes, we lost in paradise, but mostly, we live in the shadow land of life, and there is just nothing we can do as to some stuff like our appearance or a healthy body when born. Encouragingly, despite those things we can not decide by ourselves, we still possess the rights to enjoy our lives by relishing the upside and cherishing the beauties. We should perceive rather than judge, or at least, judging with our inner heart. As a result, as somebody makes fun of
us so-called gross body again, we can tell it proudly” Hi, frankly I think I’m health enough to lift
